Hey, my name is Marie and I am a literacy coach in a K-2 school. I have been an educator since 1992. I started out teaching in the regular classroom. I have taught kindergarten through 4th grade. The one thing that I have enjoyed the most is looping with students from one grade to the next. I have done that 3 times…2 times as a classroom teacher and once as a literacy coach. It is a very powerful way to learn how children truly develop as readers and writers. I have been a literacy coach for the past 5 years. I use a balanced literacy framework and believe that all children can learn to read and write when given the opportunity.
I have a B.S. in Elementary Education with a K-12 reading certification and I am working on my M.A.E.D. in Reading Ed…I will graduate in Dec. 2008
